Well, I could help, of course, but I suppose there was written what Pal has posted above and anyway I don't see the photo your'e speaking about anymore.

Allan L: no links in the puzzle threads, please. Even when it's your own puzzle.

One of the unique features of the puzzle car is, it seems to have a slight, vaguely aerodynamic shelf for the folded roof to land upon.

I haven't found any pictures of 1912-1914 Benz cars yet, which include such a shelf.

It also seems to have bodywork separating the front and rear passenger areas.

First warning.

a) it's not a puzzle thread and never was - it was/is a request for information.
b) the link referred to the forum thread where the question had first been asked, where some other speculation that occurred may have interested someone.
c) I can't see how that link, posted a year ago, can be held to compromise other puzzles.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

It was posted in the Professional AutoPuzzles thread. I've remedied that. Please add all the links you like.

Thanks - that was nearly two years ago and it seemed a good idea to post it where I did - and the responses I got around that time were from the sort of folk I was hoping would help. It's one of the few ways I have of getting information from Russia and eastern Europe with helpful people who read and write English!
Not much point in reinstating that link as the thread in TNF petered out in August 2010
