Siberian Car to Identify
« on: March 20, 2025, 05:41:36 AM »
Hi forum,

beasts from the East should not be as difficult as Western ones. Well, that's what one may think. In a videoclip, I saw this car. The location was told as Novossibirsk.

But I don't know this Soviet era model. Do you?

If so, please tell us.

Thank you, and best regards,
RT

It appears to be a second series GAZ-21 Volga with modified front end.

"Finding original body and decorative elements to replace those damaged in an accident can be a very difficult task. Some are ready to search for a long time and spend hundreds of thousands (and sometimes more) on restoration, others go a different way.

This is exactly what happened to the GAZ-21 Volga, which you see in the photos. One day the car got into an accident, damaging the front end. In order not to look for original parts, it was decided to save what was there, and make everything else ourselves...

The car is a kind of landmark of the Akademgorodok in Novosibirsk, where it can be found to this day."

The replacement lights might have come from a PAZ-672 bus.
