No, built for a circus

- built for a circus
- not a classic coachbuilder at all
- not a manufacturer of commercial trailers
- not specialized in camping

Am I right ?

Wendax

No, you misunderstood the caravan part. It is mainly a maker of camping trailers, i.e. caravans.

Was this truck built in the fifties ?

Wendax

I don't have an exact year, but I think it was made in the 1950s.

Was the caravan make still active after 1960 ?

Wendax

As far as I found out, by then the make was bought by another caravan producer.

A caravan by the same company:

The directory of French caravan builders is quite extensive. Was it established after the 2nd WW?

Wendax

I don't know, but I think so.

Just four and a half year gone and we already have the solution!
Yes, the trailer was built by Paris-Beaune for the AMAR circus. It was supposed to be the largest camping trailer in Europe.
Very well done!

I didn't see the hint in Reply #62 until today. I recognized it as a Europa by Mabille and went looking for a Mabille circus trailer. This eventually brought me around to finding the Paris-Beaune brochure, but I'm still not sure if the Europa is produced by Mabille under license from Paris-Beaune, or the other way around, or licensed by another entity, or something else entirely.

Anyway, thanks!
