Here's thifo shared when the car was auctioned in 2005:
"1948 Ford flathead V8 with 'Offy' heads and intake with 2 carbs. 3-speed transmission with a Columbia 2-speed rear end.
Details:
This is a one of a kind hand crafted hot rod built in the late 1940's. An outstanding tribute to the early days of American Hot Rodding. In the heart of this hot rod is a '47 full race flathead Ford V8 with dual Holley carburetors, Offenhauser heads and intake manifold, and a two-speed Columbia differential that sits on a '38 Lincoln chassis. The car features a one-of-a-kind boat tail body with great lines, a '38 Ford truck grille, Harley-Davidson front fenders and a V windshield. The car has several unique features, including dual exhausts that exit the engine via exterior flex pipes to exposed mufflers, fender mounted headlights that turn with the car, and an original tilt steering wheel. This is not a new car trying to look the part, but a genuine early hot rod from the late forties. "
1 point still on offer for the builder's name.
