The puzzle vehicle was photographed in Illinois in 1924. It is probably the most poorly executed example of a trackless train/automobile-locomotive from that period that I have seen. While the examples created by A. F. Sternad (based in Chicago, IL) appear to be considerably superior to this vehicle, I am aware of no other candidates in that area at that time. So, was the puzzle vehicle created by Sternad?
