The windscreen seems to have come from a Wartburg 313. Is there a Wartburg underneath?

Yes, there are some Wartburg bits, but the chassis and engine came from another car - and there is a surprise there somewhere :)

It was VW-powered - with the chassis turned 180 degrees, so it was front engined!
I told you there's a surprise :)

Yeah, quite interesting. I spoke to someone who actually saw the car and confirmed the arrangement. As for the builder, oh, well, you can find this picture online - if you know where to look.
