Wow, those look like fun! Are Whittaker Bros not a British company? If so, I wonder why these little cars were designed to look like a mid 50s Simca Ariane/Vedette from the front and a 1957-ish Chrysler from the rear and why a Mediterranean country was mentioned as the place of origin, though I'm sure this must be correct.

As a pre-teen I was very taken with the Simca Vedette Chambord - it shouted French chic with a twist of Americaine and the little V8 made a lovely noise. Sadly this engine had a reputation for needing a full overhaul at about 18,000 miles, so I had no success in persuading my Dad to buy one. Just as well, really. The MG 1100 he eventually bought some years later was of far better quality than that Simca and was a fine little machine, even though it wasn't my teenage choice. He knew nothing about cars, but he definitely had a nose for a good one.  :)
Mind you, as a late teen I still loved Simcas, so bought a Simca Aronde P60 Montlhery which was a very sturdily made little thing, even better once I'd replaced the three-bearing 'Flash' engine with a 5-bearing 'Rush' unit. Very smooth and strong. :D 8)

The answer to "Made in a Mediterranean country ?" was "No".
It's definitely British.
