Partly solved - NEH 2556: Simca Aronde Plein Ciel Coupe believed built by Facel

Identify this car correctly for 1 point; if you can identify the builder (with proof) even better, as I don't know..:

ANYONE FOUND GIVING ANSWERS OBTAINED BY USING GOOGLE SEARCH BY IMAGE MAY BE BANNED FOR AN INDETERMINATE PERIOD!

It looks Italian... but also French. I first try the latter, and my guess would be a Simca. No idea about the coach builder yet...

Because Luciano tried Simca Aronde Oceane  ;), I will go for Simca Aronde Plein Ciel. Year 1958 ?

I've given mekubb a point for identifying this car as a Simca Plein Ciel, but there's another point on offer for someone can identify who built it.  That front looks like no other Plein Ciel I've seen...

It might well have been Facel but I'm afraid I don't know what I've done with my records going back as far as this one so I can't confirm it definitely.

I'll give you a point because I think you're right but if anyone finds out differently (with proof) I'll amend that!

I think you don't have any information about the coachbuilder responsible for the altered front, see above.
The standard Plein Ciel certainly was built by Facel, but I think that was not the question. ???

Have a lot of Facel-books, as it is one of my favorite automobile-marques, never found any mentioning of this special Plein Ciel in them.
The converted front looks a little bit like "Carrozzeria Motto" and there was a connection between Facel, Simca and Motto

It was so long ago...
I'll have to find my records going back 10 years, but it looks like you're probably right and I was hoping someone would be able to find out more about the car than I knew..

So do you think I should take oguerrerob's point away again, since it doesn't seem to be by Facel at all? I guess I thought it might have been this time around as they did build the standard bodies.

I can't see any proof or at least evidence that the modification was done by Facel.
