The General-light car is the initial design of the Scientific and Technological Exchanges between the armies of Brazil and Argentina. This exchange of instruments in the Army, the Agreement on scientific and technological cooperation signed between the governments of Argentina and the Federative Republic of Brazil on May 17, 1980.
In Brazil, the project is being led by the Army's Technology Center (CTEx) and in Argentina by the Research and Development and Production of the Army in that country.

The engine, gearbox and differential and transfer, produced in Brazil were sent to the Argentine team that designed the tubular chassis and independent suspension.
The semi-mounted prototype arrived in Brazil on June 16, 2005, to perform the work in the workshops of the Arsenal de Guerra of Rio de Janeiro.
The car is performing engineering tests at the Center for Army reviews (CAEX) and will soon be subjected to technical and operational assessments, according to modern methods of evaluation of the Brazilian Army.
