Apparently appears in Larousse
Wacky (Farfelu)
In 1920, a German designed this strange car propeller.
Source: Memory years - Larousse 144 - History - 1920
-
My problem now:
- a difference of many years
- a different country
- a different name
My source also says it is a 46HP - but which source is right?
Yours is older so it should be the better one?? :-\
I LOCK this topic for you.
Can you post a scan of Larousse here or send it via PM?
-
I took the info from a Blog that says it comes from "les années mémoire - Larousse 1920"
This car is on the front cover. That's all I have
-
Ok - the Larousse book is from the 1980´s I guess.
To be honest I trust my original source form the 1920s a bit more...
Do you have any other source?
-
No, That's all I have, please unlock
-
Ok, I hope you understand that I have to unlock this again... :-\
-
Sure!! :)
-
Older than 1920?
-
My source tells that this was built some years after 1920.

French, 1930?
-
No - and it is from the 1920´s
-
Can your source be found on line?
-
I found it online... ;)
-
Made in Germany ?
-
Not German, however it is from continental Europe...
-
Made in a former Warsaw Pact country ?
-
Not an East European country
-
Made in a Mediterranean country ?
-
Yes.
-
Made in Italy ?
-
Quite sure, yes.
-
Can it be found on an Italian website ?
-
Maybe - I found it on a non-Italian website.
-
Did you find it on a German website ?
-
Yes.
-
Anzani ?
-
Anzani
-
Was it built in 1923 ?
-
My source is from 1928, but I presume it could be older, of course.
-
1928 German magazine, available in a German digital library?
-
Exactly. I saved the source in this case.
-
A better quality print, but still no name:
-
Nice photo!
-
was this a motoring magazine?
-
Yes, it was scanned from a 1928 magazine.
-
So the name is Vettori and there is a typo in the first name, I don't want to write it down because if you type it into Google there is only 1 hit. So I'd say Arturo Vettori
-
Finally!
Yes, this is Arturo Vettori´s "Luftschiff" (airship) and I guess this was a translation of the original Italian name into German.
It featured a 46HP engine and it is told that the front went up during its 120 km/h drive-flying mode - scary... :)
And it is two points for you!
-
Ah, I see Otto's moved this one at last!
Thanks.

Ah, I see Otto's moved this one at last!
Thanks.
Yes. I had an e-mail from the solver today asking me to move it, and for some reason the "solved" option refused to appear when I attempted the move. Odd. I can only assume because someone else was using it at the same time, if you see what I mean.
