grob: Admiral who?
« on: November 01, 2010, 06:50:11 AM »
Because I´ve made a blunder in this topic:

http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=13343.msg125563#msg125563

I think I have to place a new related one.
I´ve almost bought this one-off Admiral Station Wagon in the Netherlands some month ago.
It was a converted to a hearse, but nobody knew who´s made the special conversion.

Maybe anybody of you has some proof information?

I really should have bought it. It was 4500 EUR and the body and chassis have been restored.
Would have been a very cool ride. Now I drive an unreliable and expensive 1997 Alfa GTV and an old unreliable Saab 900... :-\

Maybe our experts know this specific conversion?

Sure - this would have been a cool ride.

Some pinstriping, a new interiour concept and maybe a fine small block and this would have been perfect... :)

There is some slight resemblance.

But not enough to prevent this from going to the black hole...

I´d really like to know if this was made by a known hearse conversion company or if it was a one-off.

Seems to be too low for a German hearse conversion, and too little glass for an Italian job. No ideas (although the base car is German  ;) )

Carrosserieboouw Versteegen in S'Hertogenbosch built some very low hearses, mainly on American chassis. Perhaps on this half-American, too?

I´ve almost bought this one-off Admiral Station Wagon in the Netherlands some month ago.
It appears to have made its way back to Germany after all. Here it is at the Bockhorner Oldtimermarkt in 2023 with Aurich registration (AUR SQ6):

Is this not a Vogt (Bad Neuenahr) conversion?
