With my 1,000th Puzzle pending I had planned to post a tough and interesting one for a while now.
I have been sitting on the car below - taken from a 1984 German Messerschmitt Club magazine that I found at an autojumble in Belgium - for about four years now, planning to perhaps use it for a special occasion sometime, such as a significant Puzzle. However I've been slightly reluctant to post it as my understanding of German is quite basic, and I was never certain if the information below actually gave the name of the creator of this faux Messerschmitt; possibly Gerhard Six or Herr Zimmermann (possibly the gentleman in the photos?).
Anyway, just casually reviewing some old BH Puzzles now for the first time in a while, I suddenly realised that Puzzle car #12 here is the same East German-built Messerschmitt 'homage' that I had been sitting on for some time. The DDR-era eigenbau seems to have been powered by a 250cc Jawa motorcycle engine.
Sorry I may not have found the name of the car's builder, but hopefully the images and information below will now help to solve this one
. Oh, and does anyone recognise the source of those tail lights please?
