You may as well UNLOCK this, I'm getting nowhere. Since the image is not taken from the internet, there won't be many takers anyway - ain't no-one here but us chickens.

Is this by any chance one of Geoff Rumble's creations? A Dastle?

Sorry Nicanary but it's not a Dastle.

I've looked at the background. hat looks like late 1980s architecture on the parked cars - the plastic cladding on the sills.

Is this car British?

Yes the car is British, but earlier than the 1980s.

My mind has wandered towards people who used to race Imps - I can't imagine why Hartwell would have painted their cars red, but it could be something to do with George Bevan, and those wheels are exactly like those fitted to his Imp supersaloon.

George Bevan?

Apologies Nicanary, I've only just realised that I didn't reply to your last post on this mystery F4 last April! Sorry, but it's not an Eagle.

What's time between friends? I'd forgotten all about it. There was a thread about former F4 cars on another well-known website, and I trawled through that looking for suitable candidates, but came up with nothing. The formula was so short of entrants that it eventually became the home of old FF and F3 cars, as far as I can make out, but this looks like a neat and reasonably well-engineered car of a type built with F4 intentions in mind. Almost a copy of a Vixen. Maybe one of these days it'll crop up on some motorsport forum or other.

Thanks Nicanary. If it helps, I took this photo from an old magazine rather than the internet, and at some stage the Hillman Imp engine was swapped for a different motor.

Gosh, do you ever get any sleep?! Very well found, and I know Nicanary will be relieved to see this one finally solved after five years! Two more points to you.
