Excellent foot work

The music is clearly coming from the speakers of the highly sophisticated hi-fi system that Audi had equipped Röhrl's car with. He's just tapping the beat of that lovely synth music on the pedals.

Here is an awsome soundtrack to go along with the famous Rohl footwook.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vky1uh_kCf0&feature=related with the minor exception of the first few minutes with has Euro-electro-tramp dubbed over the car sounds.  Muddle through to the 3:30 mark, and then it's all Audi S1 music.

Excellent reply.

The first film is extraordinary in that it is color.  For it's day, that was usual.

Colour film was quite common in 1962, which seems to be the date of the film (1937 M-B being demonstrtaed 25 years on). Nice commentary by Graham Hill, too.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

To be honest I despise all of those cheesy techno soundtracks at all, esp. when they disturb the sound I actually want to hear..
Nowadays everywhere is (subliminal) music whether you like to listen or not! What's so bad about leaving out music?

Oh, I wasn't thinking it was filmed in '37....
