It's a specialist builder that only car experts would have heard of, but it has a presence on the internet and the japanese press, and has made other cars that are better known than this one. It has appeared on Autopuzzles before. For this electric car, they collaborated with a parts supplier which developed the powertrain.

Well I willl concede the point because it's true that the naming of this vehicle is a bit confusing and varies depending on the sources. Actually I think it is Ultra Compact Mobility Platform. It uses two 6kW in-wheel motors which were developed and supplied by NTN Corporation. There are reportedly five of them being used in the municipality of Ise, near Nagoya, and at one point it was designated official car by the city of Iwata, which is where Tajima is based (as well as Yamaha), but I haven't been able to find any info about how many of them have been produced for use in Iwata.
