I assumed this to be from 1989. Maybe not.
I browsed through Auto-Motor magazines in 1988-1989 - nothing. Other motoring magazines - nothing. I even browsed through a Hungarian daily - still nothing.

So was this allegedly made in 1989?

The word "surrender" is not in my vocabulary

This car was built by Sebestyén Kárpáti and is claimed to be a lookalike of a 1920 Cadillac. It is powered by a GAZ 51 Molotov truck engine. The other car is a Hungarian Arsenal, which Mr Kárpáti disassembled and put together again.

I now have plenty of photos on this car, but I can't share or publish those as copyright belongs to MTVA, the official Hungarian news agency and they are very, very strict about these issues.

However I have visited Mr Kárpáti today. It seems in the Summer I will have an opportunity to test drive his car, which looks quite nice. It was built in 1986. In 2003 he built a motorcycle, powered by a V4 Zaporozhets engine! Nowadays he's busy building an airplane which will look like a 1st WW fighter plane!
And he's also a painter. Quite a character
