Yes, it is a multi-purpose decontamination vehicle, that means decontaminating of people and equipment.
This protoype based on the MAN KAT1 22.360 was manufactured by Matra in Farnkfurt in 1986.
The predecessor series that it was to replace was based on the MAN 13.168 HA, 4x4 with a subframe from P. Bauer, Cologne and a body from Odenwaldwerke, Rittersbach (see photo 3). From 1974 to 1980, 229 units were produced. I operated one of them as an machine operator for several years.
The KAT1 did not go into series production, as the DMF series was split into two lorries for Dekon-P and Dekon-G after the end of the Cold War.
Good work, quick solution!
