In order to standardise production, an attempt was made to adapt the cab of the small cubic trucks (type 314) to the Unimog; the prototype was presented on 23 December 1969.
However, adapting the cab to the Unimog would have resulted in additional costs of 1000 DM, and the seat position, which was set far forward, was also suboptimal for tough off-road use. So it remained with this one prototype.
