The chassis depicted in the puzzle image is that of the 1907 E.J.Y.R. 30/40 hp steam car, manufactured by the Highclere Motor Car Syndicate of Highclere, Newbury. The E.J.Y.R. was designed by and named after Edward James Young Rutherford, engineer and chairman of the Highclere Motor Car Syndicate.

The brand name was changed to 'Rutherford' in 1908.

In 1912, the company closed and Rutherford went to work for Stanley Steam Car, Ltd. in Ashtead, Surrey.
