MAN 640 HO 1. First generation of so called "Metrobus".  A joint development by MAN and Krauss-Maffei, prsentet in 1959. In 1961 MAN took over the entire production. By then Krauss-Maffei had produced 343 copies.

Actually, i should have guessed that the bus is from Hamburg. It is HHA car No. 6897, a KMO 640 protptype from 1960. Your photo shows the entrance to the Ohlsdorf cemetery? Did the bus go there?

Yes, it is the 1959 MAN /  Krauss-Maffei HO 640 Metrobus prototype. The Metrobus was an early attempt to standardize city buses which finally took place in a large scale with the VÖV standard buses.
The Metrobus prototype was used in Hamburg-Harburg, so the puzzle picture was most probably not taken in Ohlsdorf.
