Yes you've got it!  A point is on its way.
I believe Kiekhaefer was CEO or a senior executive with Mercury Marine.  The car was put together in the Mercury Marine workshops.  Although Kiekhaefer had raced in SCCA races, he did not drive at Sebring.

Kiekhaefer was the founder / owner of Mercury Marine, and was the one who approved the design and assembly of the small engine on the Bandini.
