No points for the background car.

For one point, please respond and identify this car.
For an extra point, tell me to which other car its engine was transferred.

Borgward Prototype with BASF plastic body. Later the engine was put into an AFM sportcar.

Yes, both answers are correct, but incomplete.
Which Borgward was this car based on?
Which AFM car got the engine?
Locked for you, of course.

The Borgward was Hansa 1500 Roadster. The body was designed by Erich Übelacker. The engine was from a Borgward RS (Rennsport)  with fuel injektion. After test by Borgward the car was given to Bechem who later sold it. At a testdrive of the new owner the car burnt down at the Nürburgring.
AFM  - It was the ex Gommann Monoposto , rebuilt into a sportscar by Bechem (again)

Is that within the rules?
Blanking out a motif, symbol or badge such as deleting the distinctive Borgward diamond is allowable.  But I do think drawing (or photoshopping) bars to form a grille is carrying it too far.  I feel it should have had a black blob like the VW registration.
(This isn't sour grapes as I hadn't the foggiest idea what it is anyway)

I think it's OK.
It's something I do regularly, to replace an Alfa or BMW (for instance) 'shield' or grille with parts from the rest of the grille so that it replaces entirely the giveaway part but still looks right.  I prefer it to a black blob!

The car as it appeared during Gunter Bechem's ownership, with hardtop and incorporated full windshield. (Also, note the small driver's side 'door' that was barely visible in the puzzle image.)
