Dongfeng CA-71 ?

Wendax

Good idea, but there is more about this car. Locked for to find out what's special.

bsa

do you mean, asking me to state that this car is known as "China's First car"?
It was born in 1958 on the special request of Mao Zedong, who demanded a Chinese state limousine.

Wendax

No, I don't mean the Dongfeng CA-71 in general, but the pictured car.

Well, not that it was part of the original question, but the original Dongfeng had black wall tires. I am guessing that this may be much more recent replica based on the Russian GAZ-21 Volga car.

Wendax

Yes, it is a replica, but on another base. Still locked.

Opel Rekord

Wendax

Yes, whatever made the people at Taishan Classic Car Museum think an Opel Rekord P2 would be the right base to build a Dongfeng CA-71 replica. The real Dongfeng CA-71 was rather a mixture of Mercedes-Benz influences for the drivetrain and Simca Vedette styling for the bodywork.

also clearly American cars design cues, the rear, and the fins in particular.
