A different kind of puzzle, as the base vehicle is easy to find.
For one point, please respond and identify this vehicle, especially its purpose.

The base vehicle seems to be a DKW Schnellaster, late 40s to early 60s. (1957 P2 Taunus 17M ahead of it, so perhaps mid 50s?). Was it a transporter for sheets of glass?

RoLLS OF CArpEt or colth for seat covers
Close enough to grant you a single-guess lock. It has something to do with carpets.

No, unlocked and open for all experts again

Yes, a mobile carpet beating machine.
There were some more around in the 1950s, before everyone had a vacuum cleaner.

Pure wild guess, but only due to shamrock's reply on rolls of carpet! Lets share the point!
-
What a wonderful weird puzzle
I specially loved the bonus picture of the Dutch tapijtenklopdienst.
Because it has a six numbers telephone number it is probably in one of the 4 big cities of The Netherlands.
-
The photo shows the first carpet beating machine on wheels in Amsterdam.

The unmodified puzzle picture:

Amazed never seen these before

What a clever idea! 8) 8)
By the way, the parked Taunus seems to have a broken rear axle, even Ford wouldn't stoop to swing axles! ;D ;D

Three more pictures of an extra long Tempo Matador and a trailer as carpet beating machines:
