Well I'd say it's a Peugeot of about 1895.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Well spotted! It is a 1896 Peugeot. The sign in the Museum said Type 1 bis, but I'm not sure about that. The car is said to be the oldest unrestored car in the world.

Early Peugeot cars were given Type Numbers retrospectively so 1 bis may be right for all I know!
1896 is the date usually given for Peugeot making their own engine, previously using Panhard-built Daimler engines.

An example of a car that looks the same in color photos as it does in black and white ones...
