Sorry, I've found a pic of a Chevallier, from the Bol d'Or of 1934, but in my pic the car was slightly different.
It's written that it appeared in 1931, FWD and Ruby engined.

This is the 1934 Bol d'or winner, a Chevallier MG J4 special in the hands of MG agent Philippe Maillard-Brune. Presumably, that high tail was added a couple of years later?

You've correctly identified the car, and its main claim to fame, but some of your comments don't agree with my notes. According to my source, it is FWD and powered by a supercharged Ruby engine. I don't think MG had anything to do with it.

Anyway, a point to you.

I've had a closer look at all this, and I was too hasty in blasting through the internet stuff. The car pictured IS front-driven, and is nothing to do with MG. The car pictured is from 1935, and is a Chevallier. A 1934 version of the same make came second in that year's Bol d'or, behind the winning MG J4. I therefore return the generous donation of the "point", as it was not deserved. Salutations.

Thanks to Wendax for merging the puzzles. My source had incorrectly spelt the marque name, and thus the confusion.

FrontMan - I will not deduct a point, you correctly identified the car even if you provided some incorrect information. No problem with me.
