Alvin 'Spike' Rhiando, Canadian designer and engineer. Wanted to do a 10.500 mile trip from Löndon to Capetown on his self-enginered Motor Scooter with two stroke Villiers engine, air-conditioned fibreglass-cab, radio, etc. He hoped to market scooters like that for about GBP 150,- each (December 1952) after his impressive advertising trip...
