In 1947, fresh from World War II and the allied invasion of Sicily, Isotta Fraschini tried to revive its luxury car production with the introduction of the Fraschini Tipo 8C Monterosa. But the company’s obsession with perfection and luxury which created their demand was the cause of their demise. The price tag for the Monterosa was twice the cost of the most expensive chauffeur-driven limousines offered by Cadillac or Packard at the time. Europe had been destroyed, Italy was in a state of destitution and the French government had imposed an excessive luxury tax which made the car even more expensive.

With no options to sell their cars, it's not possible to determine just how many Monterosas were actually built. There may have been as few as three and but no more than six. Today, Isotta Fraschini of Milan continues a luxury line of leather goods, shoes, ties and perfume.

For those that believed the Tatra 87 was the ultimate in design for poor handling (swing axle rear with a 3 litre engine overhung at the back) the 8C Monterosa might be even worse with (at first) a 3.4 litre water-cooled rear engine.
Those who learned to drive on a VW beetle whould probably understand.

Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8C Monterosa took place in October 1947 at the Paris Motor Show in the Grand Palais (source wikipedia)

Yes, the Tipo 8C Monterosa Boneschi Cabriolet was presented in 1947. Various pictures of this car also mention 1947 as the year of construction.
In some cases, 1948 is also mentioned, and in one source or another there is also talk of a second example. This would be one explanation for the different year of construction details.
Either way, this is your next point.

Do you have any information about the 1948 model? Did it really exist? In the brochure from that year, you can see differences in the headlight area. However, it is only an inaccurate drawing.

I don't have much information on these cars. I only know that the example in your photos (chassis # unknown to me) was displayed at the 1947 Paris Salon with Milan registration plates 'MI 06756', and that chassis #04 was displayed at the 1949 Geneva Salon with Milan registration plates 'MI 127117'. I'm not even certain that these are different cars.
