An elegant convertible.
Who built it and on what basis? When was that?
-
Do the experts also find the convertible so elegant?
-
Audi 920 by Gläser?
-
If you mention the year of manufacture, you'll get a point.
Locked for marmer.

Between 1938 and 1940 1281 cars were built of which 795 were convertibles. This is one of my favorite cars (I'm an old Audi guy from way back.). I'm not really sure that it can be narrowed down within that range, but most examples that I can find are captioned as 1939.

Yes, this Gläser-body was built in 1939.

In about 2014 I went to the World War II museum in Auburn, Indiana. They had a bunch of European military vehicles, and probably the only Audi 920 in the United States. I asked politely if I could get a closer look at the interior because it was way back in the display. They said, very rudely, that "special access" required a donation of $100. Never mind. I should have just waited until I was finished, then jumped the barrier, taken a picture, and let them kick me out. About four years later, they ran into financial trouble and auctioned off a lot of their vehicles, including the Audi 920. There were lots of pictures of it in the auction listing, including the interior, which was in very poor condition.
Some examples of this car have a very elaborately painted woodgrain finish on the metal dash.

Marmer, thanks for your report.
