VW Peugeot coupe'.
Built the fifties in Spain on a VW type 82 Kübelwagen chassis. Peugeot 202 body from 1938. Peugeot trunkl id is replaced by a VW bonnet. The Peugeot bonnet got a VW trunk lid.

Yes, you're right, it's a slightly modified Peugeot 202 body on a VW platform. So the point is yours!
Where did you get the information that the conversion took place in Spain? The photographer was a motoring journalist and photographed rare, interesting, bizarre or otherwise remarkable vehicles in Germany from the mid-1950s onwards. Judging by the vehicles in the background, the photo was probably taken in Germany. But perhaps the builder took a trip to Germany, as the license plate is unfortunately not visible...

The assumption that this car comes from Spain is one from a multitude of errors in the book "Durchgeboxt". At least the book provides us with a rear view of this VW-Peugeot hybrid, the chassis number 043344 (should be a 1944 Typ 82) and the engine number 003527.
