This engine looks quite interesting. What manufacturer is it from? Please describe the type of construction. From when to when was it built? With what cubic capacity? In which series (name at least two)?

A DKW 4-8 Vee 6 engine as used in the 1937 DKW Sonderklasse. 1054 cc. Designed in 1929 produced I think from 1931 to 1938. Effectively a Vee four with two additional cyclinders which compression charged the combustion chambers.

Yes, it is a DKW "4=8" engine, a V4 with charge pumps. But the construction period of the "4=8" lasted longer than from 1931 to 1938, there was another displacement variant and of the four series with this engine, one is still missing for the solution.

I think the production perion is 1929 to 1940, I believe the other original displacement is 990cc after a trial engine at 800cc was abandoned.

I have traced four engine sizes, (in order)  980cc 782cc 990cc and 1054cc are these what you want?

No, the different variants of cubic capacity have already been listed. I'm still missing one of a total of five vehicle models. You've already mentioned the Sonderklasse.

The question came across incorrectly. The question is not about the different body shapes but about the realised model series, five in total. Three had a combination of letters and numbers as their type designation and two series had proper names. Of these, you have already mentioned the ‘Sonderklasse’.

Yes, now we've got it! Incidentally, the 4=8 series was divided into the following types: P 25 PS, 1929/30 - V800, 1930/31 - V1000, 1931/32. Here follows your well-deserved point.
