Locked for you. Is it a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke engine? My sources refer to an earlier year.

Sorry, not a huge amount of information about German motorcycles in English and sources vary. Looking further afield it does state on the Ardie website that Norbert Riedel helped develop the machine for Ardie in 1936 and it was a two-stroke.
