Bikes have never been a great interest for me. I had my Father to thank for that, as, when despatch-riding during the War in Egypt, he rode into a wire that had been stretched across the road. His colleague, a French fellow (affectionately known to all as "Froggy") got him to safety. After six weeks in hospital, he realised that, "if you come off a bike, you get hurt.". He always remembered, with great respect, that it was a German doctor who saved his life...
So, I was "steered" away from 'bikes. That, of course, does not prevent me from being in awe of those who race the things
.
I had the honour to meet Denis Jenkinson at Prescott many years ago. He, of course, had passengered for Eric Oliver, and I am sure that he would have known Inge. At that time I was not aware of her story, otherwise I would have asked! Instead, we discussed the chances of Renzo Zorzi being a distant relative of Tazio Nuvolari, Nuvolari's mother's maiden name having been Zorzi!!
Time to continue your inspiring Puzzle;...apologies for the intrusion. I hope Inge didn't mind.........
