Nearly!
When they found the car was underpowered with the 1500cc Maserati engine they fitted another engine - that's the engine it had in the picture. 
What was that engine?

That's it!
Having built the 1.5 litre car and found it to be uncompetitive, the Gachnagg brothers fitted the two litre engine and competed in hillclimbs.
