All I can find is that the car was called the Alfa Romeo Special, a 2.5-litre one-off, owned by Warren Layne of the Layne oil dynasty. The car was raced at the Alvin Callender Field, near New Orleans, in July 1955, where driver Bob Schroeder took it to second place in a feature race at the event. Is this enough?
