Van Diemen and Formula Ford are correct, but the rest is not as the year should be a bit earlier.

It's the plain white helmet that's the clue, but I can't place it. Johnny Herbert ?

Yes - you've got there eventually. I'll award your point and move this to "Solved" when I am next on my computer as it's too fiddly on a tablet

Thanks. I too have difficulty with smaller devices, and never use my phone for AP.
I was amazed by how many "names" drove a Van Diemen RF84.

Now I'm back on line, I've added your point and moved it to "Solved"
The full answer is Mark Blundell, 1984 Oulton Park competing in a Dunlop Autosport Star of Tomorrow Formula Ford race, in a Fleetray Racing Team Van Diemen RF84.
