Title: PN #1241
Post by: pnegyesi on May 18, 2019, 10:55:48 PM
Please ID both donor and coachbuilder. I think this will be difficult to solve, but prove me wrong. I will give you 2 points if you ID the coachbuilder.

It certainly looks French. Built on a Rochet-Schneider chassis?

I understand that it is not Pascual et Troin and that it can't be found on the web, except for general mentioning without images. Am I right ?

I found another picture of the bus and I know which company used it, but still no name for the coachbuilder.

My location (CA) has been blacklisted by this site.  However, the front lights of these buses are completely different. As for the grille, I'm not sure that it is the same.

I discovered the same image a while back, but as with you, it got me no closer to identifying the coachbuilder.

My location (CA) has been blacklisted by this site.  However, the front lights of these buses are completely different. As for the grille, I'm not sure that it is the same.
The company is located in the same vicinity as the coachbuilder and the bus appears to be identical in virtually every respect except for the headlight mountings. In my opinion, this is either the same bus with modified headlight mountings (more likely), or a nearly-identical bus by the same coachbuilder.

I have the references of 50 French bus coachbuilders in my files. The only one which is based in St Étienne is Gruau, which has been already in AP before. I don't have anything else to offer. Sorry.
