This bodywork is presumably the work of a small coachbuilder or even an amateur, because it undoubtably incorporates the cabin of a Borgward Hansa 1500, and even the bonnet, which characteristically never seemed to be closed properly on the Borgwards. There were always 2 little somethings on each side which were visible in the gap - and sure enough there is one of them visible on the puzzle car. The front and external trim are of course not from a Borgward, and the bonnet has been cut down at the front. So I am thinking it was built around 1953 but once Spohn has gone, I had no idea who did it - Rappold?

Nice assumption. The car was built in 1951. The builder was claimed to be a Karosseriebaumeister, but I don't have too much info on him
