This is the Factory Five Racing 818C 1st prototype...powered by a Subaru Impressa flat 6 engine. Photo taken at the Factory Five factory. Other Factory Five 818C's have been built. If Carnut is looking for another answer than this...he must  post a photo of the actual puzzle car he wants solved.

Here are 2 more Factory Five 818C's The blue one is an 818c powered by a Ford Eco Boost V^ The Silver one is a 818C powered by 2 Tesla Electric motors with 2 Chevy Volt battery packs.

Well you've almost answered my questions, but not quite.
I actually took the photo used for the puzzle from a site about a Tesla-powered 818, which also included other similar photos.
I agree that the puzzle photo is also used on other sites to illustrate a Factory Five 818 but frankly it confuses me as they look absolutely identical, so I don't know how anyone can know the car in my photo is a particular 818 and not the electric one I'm looking for except perhaps the background..

Here's another photo of the same car as the one I'm looking for the solution to and whilst it may not actually be the same car as in the puzzle photo (although the caption on the site I took it from says it is!) how on earth do you tell them apart?

You seem to know a bit about these cars so I'm sure you can solve the puzzle now.  It is Tesla-powered but I'm looking for the name of the company which is marketing them or intends to.  I'll lock it for you to give me it.
