Hehe, I also saw that gallery when you solved posted other photos of SACO's Burgisser Lotus puzzle. This is a Gordini 1255cc "eigenbau" by Kurt Bürli, being raced at the 1970 Kerenzerbergrennen.

My system has been discovered !  ;D You're quite right of course, and win the point. There's nothing more I can add - I guess the engine is from a Renault R8 Gordini.
