For one point, provide the year, name, and builder of this old ice racer.

For laughs, tell us the name the car wore when it was painted yellow.

1954. The Nobe Special. Built by Gustav Nobelius of Stockholm Sweden. (2) Volkswagen master cylinders, Ford engine with Offenhauser heads, chassis made from 100mm & 50 mm conduit tubing. While under Norwegian ownership, & when it was painted yellow, it was called "Hot-Lemon" & was hemi powered.

A point to ValkyrieGT for the complete answer.  Mr. Nobelius and this car are interesting subjects.

Gustav Nobelius advertised the car for sale as the Nobe V8:

The big dash between NOBE and V8 probably indicates V8 is the first word of the car description:

(rough, broken translation:)

V8 two-seater sports car with a special 4-speed Jaguar barn and ardunmotor with 8. solex carburetors in absolute forst-classy condition and complete ice equipment and

Or a slightly better translation!:

NOBE - V8 two-seater special sports car with 4-speed Jaguar gearbox and Ardun motor with 8 Solex carbuettors in absolutely first-class condition and also with complete ice equipment.

Ignore the bit about John Kvarnström's former Ford Special!

Rather unusual wheels here.  Who can identify this?  Name (either of 2 similar possibilities is Ok) power plant, builder.

This is the NoBe Spesial, raced on ice tracks in the 50-ties, built of Gustav Nobelius in Sweden. Based on a Ford frame, engine with Ardun heads. Rumours says it is being restored in Oslo Norway

It's a real problem. The best thing is to use several "trigger" words. I found it by using Nobelius rather than the name of the car. Early in this site's existence it was common practice for titles to read something like " Fred Bloggs' Ford special" and just that comma on the name of the builder means it's almost impossible to find. These days I would type "the Ford special of Fred Bloggs". Still - there's no harm in setting something easy for Rookies and reviving an interesting puzzle from the past.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia
