This is the B.B. Special (Bamboo Special). Singer engine.

Not a Connaught because this is the correct answer. It was driven by Yap Ah Shong and this is the car at the 1960 Johore Grand prix. I think the engine could actually be a pre-war unit.
There are websites featuring Malaysian specials and there is some confusion between this car and another Bamboo Special which was a Buckler frame, Mistral body and a Jaguar engine. Both built by the same combine.
