1 Desauto Stevens Imp  1967-69 (Imp engine). It is told, that in the car's late history two-Imp-lumps worked in its back, but I think, that can only be rumour... Cannot imagine that technically...

Amazing! I thought this would last longer but I think I know which websites you visit.

It was the work of Tony Stevens who was on the engine staff at Rootes Group, and was hoped to be an entry at Le Mans but Rootes declined it on funding grounds. I'm not sure if in fact the twin engines were ever installed although the car was advertised for sale in 1966 as a 2-litre 8-cylinder car. Any records show the car raced with one Imp engine fitted.

Sorry, no websites. I am Imp-club-member since many decades... Have some photos from Ted Walker....

This car (including the puzzle image) can be found quite widely online, including here at AP as it is a repost (although it wasn't given the full subject heading previously to help find it via a Search). Perhaps it can now be merged;

It seems we've had it twice before, once as the Stevens GT:

https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2013-42/solved-neh-3153-stevens-gt/

And again as the Stevens GT Manley Imp:

https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2011-39/solved-mjw-480-stevens-gt-manley-imp/msg171133/#msg171133

This latter one includes a For Sale advert for the car, where it is described as the De Suto Stevens (Manley Imp).
It looks like the same car all three times to me, and if we all agree I'll merge them all into one puzzle?

But what was it reallly called?!

I'm convinced it's one-and-the-same car. I can't believe more than one was built.  On a well-known results site it's entered as Desauto Stevens GT although on some sections of the same site it's just a Stevens GT!

I've merged them into one.
There is a difference around the rear engine cover and intakes, but I can't believe they built more than one. It will have been modified during development.

To get clear about the car's name: Here he is visible on a picture, taken in 1969 at Patscott Hill Climb by Ted Walker (ferret1)
