It's a Turner, probably chassis no 2, but rebodied in the 60s/70s. It originally had a 2.2 litre Vauxhall engine and probably still had it in the photo.The photo shows it in 1953.

That's the car. Well found. The original car has been a previous puzzle but this re-incarnation is in effect a different car.

Through its history the Vauxhall motor was upgraded to a tuned Zephyr, and later to a Ford V8 (believed to be first a 260ci and later a 289ci), owned by Geoff Brown from 1958 who probably started the ball rolling with the Zephyr.

In this photo it has a Ford V8 and it was quite successful in sprints and shorter races.

Hmm - I had Turner for some years and knew of this car, but never knew it had been converted to a V8. The attached photo shows it with its 6cyl engine.
