A 1920s Speed series (S-24/S-26)? I'm a bit baffled by the shape of the grille, I've been trying to find this particular unit but no luck so far...

Yes, it is a 1926 International Speed Truck, a Model SL to be precise. One more point for you.

The photo is definitely not taken in the USA, despite what the registration plate says..  It's taken in a UK location.
The plate is a UK issue from March 1955 and was not a general issue but was reserved for Government Departments.

Bit more subsequent research suggests that this may not be an an International despite being named as such. Not may obvious pointers add up to it being one. Seems a relatively recent import to UK. Badge on the original is in no way similar to an International. Bit puzzling?
