I'm having a hard time finding which car it's based on, just a vague mention of "collaboration" with European and East Asian companies.
If I had to guess, It looks very similar to Nissan Pathfinder

Sandstorm Al Reem (or Alreem) is correct! It's not based on the Pathfinder but on another, less well known Asian car. I'll keep the puzzle locked for you to dig a bit more.

Not a bad guess, but it's not the Rexton. I'll give you a hint: I just googled Sandstorm Alreem and the name of the country that the base car is from, and in the first page of results I got the website that tells you the name of the base car.

Your method was unfortunately fruitless but after more digging, someone had mentioned that the engine is from Mitsubishi, so it could be partially based on the outlander.
If this is the wrong answer - feel free to unlock it.

It's not Mitsubishi-based.
But, you identified the puzzle car, and you're a rookie, so you win a point anyway. The puzzle is now open for a second point for whoever identifies the base car.
