Fellow Autopuzzlers, for a point please tell me who made this car and what it's known as.
Don't be naughty! Stay away from Google Search by Image, kids.

Is this just a rendering or a real photo? I think it may be based on a 1950 Ford convertible or an Aussie 1950 Ford Ute......not really sure. ???
-
It is a real car and a real photo, taken in a studio in pristine conditions. You are right about the base, it's circa 1950 Ford, but since that was not part of the question it's not enough for a lock, sorry.

No.

Took me quite a while to find it - but I remembered seeing this car featured in a series of color photographs somewhere on the web some time ago. This is "The Shampoo Truck", a customized 1949 Ford originally done in 1954 by Horace Davi & Joe Bailon. Apparently Davi owned a hair shampoo company, hence the name. It sat in storage for many years until recently restored.
-
You got it! Davi was the client and originator of the idea, and Bailon carried out the conversion according to his wishes. This was 3 years before Ford started making the Ranchero.
