I agree, it's certainly not beautiful! Maybe that's why it's been strapped down, to stop it escaping into the wild  :)!

It's a 1973 Macari Peerless  which featured on the 'Barn finds' stand at the recent Classic and Restoration show. A strange looking beast apparently found in a tunnel type garage in London some weeks ago.

Well spotted John, your third point is awarded. I've got some more photos of the car taken at the Show last weekend, which I'll upload soon when I'm back at home.

I saw this car was going to be in the Carole Nash Barn Finds but have been unable to find anything out about it on the 'Net.
Was the builder Joe Macari, of supercar dealer fame (I believe he was once an engineer servicing top-end supercars)?
And has he just hi-jacked the Peerless name?  Surely it's nothing to do with the 1950s Peerless?  It doesn't look anything like them at all!

This odd device was built around a Peerless GT, with the front and rear ends modified, but the GT's central body section (doors, glass, etc.) retained. I'm not certain who the Mr. Macari that modified the Peerless in 1973 was, but it was not Joe Macari, the classic Ferrari and supercar specialist.

Funny - the tail is an improvement on the Peerless with its silly little fins - but the front  :yuck:
