For which manufacturer was this cab intended? When was it?

Yes, it was to be expected that you would know the solution...
A new, modern cabin was planned at Saurer (project 125, "Cabin Europe"). The project was started in 1972, in 1973 the prototypes were released for construction, the first one was finished in late autumn 1973 (in Kaiserslautern...) three more were built at DeGiorgi in Bern and finished in November 1974, see photos. Scrapping of the cabins took place in 1983...
