"Forty-nine years ago a
young and aspiring racecar driver, Don Roberts was working with his buddy Doug Duncan at Ted Hogan's garage at Yorkville and Bay Street in Toronto. They were working on building a super- modified to be raced at the CNE, Pinecrest and other stock car tracks in the area. By the time of the start of the race season it was found that the car was too tight to accommodate the driver and it was too late to make the nec- essary changes. So the car sat till the end of the 61 season when it was purchased by Jack Hayne. Hayne and Roberts went about modifying the car so it could be raced. The driver was to be veteran oval track racer Jim Ginn.
With the addition of a 430 Lincoln engine and later a 390 the car ran from 1962 until it was put away in a barn some-
where in the Bruce Peninsula in 1968."
